1984 / 87

In October 1984 Bob and Carolyn Ross - he from the class of '55, she the former Carolyn Bier from the class of '57- attended the 30 year reunion of the class of 1954 in San Francisco. The committee really put on a great reunion and they acquired permission for a 'Last Walk to Class' through Poly as the final event of the weekend.

"Walking the halls of Poly that morning, October 7, 1984, had us filled with mixed emotions. It was a wonderful and cheerful experience to walk those halls with old classmates and remember the things we did back in our school days, but very sad seeing the condition of disrepair that the school had fallen into and knowing the upcoming fate of the school."

"The caretakers at Poly that morning said we could take whatever we wanted for souvenirs and a lot of physical memories left Poly with us. A lot of hugs and school stories were exchanged that morning and we all departed those halls with warm feelings and many memories of school days past. Hail Polytechnic, long live thy name …"
